Pastoral Care

Pastoral care happens best in small groups

“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.”
Acts 20:28
Think of the entire field of pastoral care in a congregation as a triangle.
The base of the triangle represents Mutual Care – the care we show for one another every day. this level of care happens through our small groups.  Everyone is involved in caring for one another.
The middle of the triangle is Pastoral Care. Fewer people do this ministry as it requires some training, based on God’s calling and gifting of a person. An example would be the care offered through hospital visits.
The top of the triangle represents Pastoral Counselling, an area where only a few people work, as it requires a great deal of training.

Our pastoral team

Our pastoral care team is headed by Graham. Graham works with a small group of dedicated members of our church congregation, who meet regularly to keep up to date with who’s who, and who is needing help – such as a visit in hospital to support those who need that bit more.
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.”  (1 Peter 5 vs.2)
